Bruno was born to a couple of professional, semi-itinerant musicians on the year the Klingons attacked the Khitomer outpost. He joined the Academy the year of Wolf 359 and graduated as a Tactical officer when the Federation made first contact with the hostile Dominion forces.

His career started with the search for Voyager then quickly veered off fighting the Maquis and the Dominion War. Later years were spent in long term, long range exploration missions in between career pauses and extended leaves during which his personal life's twists and turns kept going off course. The USS Flambeau marks his latest return to command.

Staff shake ups eventually allowed her to transfer to Engineering, where she was happy to work on the various ships that passed through. Now, however, she's weary of  being in one place all the time and is ready to take her first tour of duty aboard a starship.

She joined Starfleet after leaving a gang that was getting into more criminal activities. She is physically quite strong. She made the minimum score on her entrance exam and placed 129th out of a class of 200. She is aggressive and physical, not very diplomatic and blunt to a fault.
